Alex Phillips

Alex, who was with Warwickshire as a youngster, joined Shropshire ahead of the 2019 season after previously playing county cricket for Herefordshire.

A prolific batsman in the Birmingham League with Knowle & Dorridge, he enjoyed opening the batting at club level with New Zealand International George Worker in the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Alex scored more runs, 824, than any player in the Birmingham League premier division during the 2018 campaign.

Alex also kept wicket for Shropshire in their group matches in the 2019 Twenty20 competition, making his debut for the county against Berkshire at Whitchurch.

His Championship debut for Shropshire came against Dorset at Shrewsbury in the opening three-day match of the 2019 season.
