Alexei Kervezee

The experienced former Netherlands international all-rounder joined Shropshire ahead of the 2018 season.

He made 39 One Day International appearances for the Dutch, with a top score of 92 against Kenya in 2010.

Alexei, who was born in Namibia, enjoyed 11 years with Worcestershire and appeared regularly for the New Road club in all formats.

He hit six first-class centuries for Worcestershire – with a best score of 155 against Derbyshire – and two more in List A cricket.

Alexei, who captains Halesowen in the Birmingham League, is also a versatile performer with the ball who bowls both off-spin and seam.

He made his Shropshire debut in the Unicorns Trophy victory over Herefordshire at Whitchurch in April 2018.

Alexei’s first century for Shropshire came in the first innings of the Championship match against Herefordshire at Eastnor in July 2018, 158 from 164 balls.

He followed it up by hitting 166, from 178 deliveries, in the first innings of the next Championship match against Berkshire at Finchampstead.

Alexei ended the 2018 season as the top run scorer in the Unicorns Championship’s Western Division, with 748 runs an an impressive average of 74.80.
