Captain Steve Leach tops Shropshire’s 2017 Unicorns Championship batting averages

Shropshire captain Steve Leach topped the county’s batting averages in the Unicorns Championship for the 2017 season.

The opening batsman averaged 42.9 in the Championship after hitting 429 runs.

Then came Omar Ali with 341 runs at an average of 42.63 followed by Ross Aucott with 208 runs at an average of 41.6.

Shropshire’s leading wicket-takers in the 2017 Championship season were Alex Wyatt, who took 23 wickets at 27.61 and David Wainwright, with 19 victims at 32.16 apiece.

The bowling averages were headed by Gurjit Sandhu, five wickets at 24.4, and Bridgnorth’s Sam Whitney, with six wickets at 26.33.
