Shifnal’s Charlie Home will captain Shropshire’s Development XI in their opening match of the season against Shrewsbury School today (Wednesday).
Home, pictured, who played for Shropshire in Sunday’s Unicorns Knockout Trophy defeat at London Road, leads a strong side which features five debutants in Connor Dudley, Ben Lees, Charlie Mackelworth, Matty Simmonds and Ryan Jakeman.
Today’s match at Shrewsbury School starts at 1.30pm.
The 2017 fixture list for Shropshire’s Development XI includes matches against academy sides from three first-class counties in Lancashire, Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire.
