Mike Barnard

Mike, a right-arm seamer, enjoyed a welcome return to the Shropshire squad for the 2018 season after making himself available to play one-day cricket.

A hugely experienced and reliable performer, Mike has been instrumental in Shrewsbury’s success in the Birmingham League.

He made his Championship debut for Shropshire against Wiltshire at Bridgnorth in 2008 and played his first one-day match against Cumberland at Workington the following year.

He has experience of first-class cricket from Oxford MCCU and was part of the Shropshire side which won the MCCA Knockout Trophy by beating Lincolnshire at Durham CCC in 2010.

Mike is from a big cricketing family. Dad Andy played 112 Minor Counties Championship matches for Shropshire while he has also played plenty of club cricket for Shrewsbury alongside his brothers Steve and Ed, who is now a regular for Worcestershire.
