Robbie Clarke

Robbie, the captain of Birmingham League side Oswestry, his home town club, is a right-handed batsman comfortable either in the top or middle order.

He made his Championship debut for Shropshire in 2015 against Cheshire at Whitchurch.

The same year saw him play his first one-day match for the county in the familiar surroundings of Oswestry’s Morda Road against Northumberland.

A popular figure with his team mates, Robbie’s younger brother, Joe Clarke, who has represented England Lions, also played for Shropshire before making the breakthrough to first-class cricket with Worcestershire and then moving to Nottinghamshire.

Robbie’s top Championship score for Shropshire is 69 against Herefordshire at Eastnor in 2015.

He hit his first century for the county in May 2018, a brilliant, unbeaten 107 in a Unicorns Trophy second round victory over Staffordshire at Himley. He had also hit a ton for Oswestry a day earlier to make it a memorable weekend.
