Shropshire’s pre-season game with Worcestershire’s second team a victim of the weather

Shropshire’s scheduled opening pre-season game with Worcestershire’s second team at Wrekin College this Sunday has been called off owing to the continued wet weather.

With no prospect of play owing to the conditions, an early decision has been taken.

The Shropshire squad will now hold a training session at Shrewsbury School’s Neville Cardus Indoor Cricket Centre on Sunday morning.

It is hoped the weather will improve for Shropshire’s other planned warm up game, a Twenty20 match against Cardiff Met University, to go ahead the following Sunday, April 15.

Shropshire will begin their competitive fixtures with a Unicorns Trophy first round tie against Herefordshire at Whitchurch on Sunday, April 29.
